Role Description The Mobilizer is a full-time, on-site role based in Bankura, responsible for engaging communities and supporting implementation of SwitchON Foundation’s programs. Day-to-day tasks include conducting outreach in villages and local communities, organizing awareness meetings and trainings on clean energy, sustainable agriculture, and wellbeing initiatives, and building strong relationships with community members, local leaders, and partner organizations. The Mobilizer will collect field data, document activities, and report progress regularly to the project team, helping ensure timely and effective delivery of program objectives. The role also involves coordinating events, mobilizing participants, providing feedback from the field, and working closely with colleagues to adapt interventions based on local needs.
Qualifications
- Ability to engage and mobilize communities, build trust with local stakeholders, and facilitate group meetings or trainings.
- Strong communication skills in local languages and basic proficiency in English; ability to explain concepts clearly and respectfully.
- Basic knowledge or interest in environmental sustainability, clean energy, agriculture, or rural development.
- Comfort with fieldwork, frequent travel within Bankura district, and working in diverse rural settings.
- Ability to record data, maintain simple reports, and share regular updates with the project team.
- Minimum educational qualification of high school completion; a diploma or degree in social work, rural development, or related fields is an advantage.
- Prior experience in community outreach, NGO work, or grassroots mobilization is preferred but not mandatory.
- Commitment to inclusivity, non-discrimination, and working respectfully with people from different backgrounds, genders, and age groups.
