Role: Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Write clean, performant code to develop functional applications; build reusable code and libraries
2. Deploy and take ownership of production environments
3. Take ownership of client deliverables
4. Contribute to architecture and implementation decisions
5. Participate in the entire application lifecycle (defining requirements, designing, coding, debugging and production maintenance)

Experience

1. 5 years of experience developing complex applications with modern programming languages
2. Completed a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science
3. 2 years of experience with Apache Spark (or Hadoop) for data processing
4. Problem solver who enjoys learning new languages and frameworks
5. Collaborative and personable engineer who likes working with a team

Preferred Qualifications

1. Enthusiasm for data analytics and data engineering
2. Ability to work well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly
3. Experience with AWS
4. Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, relational databases and noSql storage
