About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Machine Learning Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving the development, deployment, and optimization of machine learning solutions that align with our strategic goals. As a technical leader, you will work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to translate research models into scalable, production-ready systems. Your expertise will help shape our AI strategy and ensure the robustness, efficiency, and effectiveness of our machine learning initiatives. Additionally, you will mentor a team of talented data and machine learning engineers, fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field, with a Master’s degree or higher preferred. They will have at least five years of professional experience in machine learning engineering, demonstrating a proven track record of developing and deploying machine learning models at scale. Leadership experience, including mentoring or managing teams, is essential. The candidate must have advanced proficiency in Python and familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX. A deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, data pipelines, and deployment techniques is required. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, as well as MLOps practices, Docker, and Kubernetes, is critical. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for innovation are highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end development of machine learning models, from initial prototyping to production deployment, ensuring high quality and performance.
- Architect and implement scalable machine learning pipelines and infrastructure to support large-scale data processing and model training.
- Collaborate with data scientists to transition research models into reliable, production-ready systems that can be integrated into applications and services.
- Work closely with engineering teams to embed ML models into software products, ensuring seamless deployment and operation.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of machine learning and data engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Establish and enforce best practices for model development, evaluation, monitoring, and retraining to maintain model accuracy and relevance.
- Design experiments, analyze results, and iterate rapidly to enhance model performance and address emerging challenges.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in machine learning and AI research, incorporating new techniques and tools into projects.
- Define and implement governance standards for ML models, including versioning, documentation, and compliance with industry best practices.
