Description
Reporting to the Production Manager, this position is responsible for the blasting, washing, assembly, packaging, and handling of manufactured products.
Requirements
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Load and unload parts into the blast and/or wash equipment.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces.
- Perform work in accordance with the work order / job router.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance functions on the equipment.
- As time permits, perform random physical inventories (focusing on heavy usage materials).
- Produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies.
- Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
- Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
Other Responsibilities Include:
- Ability and willingness to work scheduled hours based on our customer and supplier needs.
- Communicate with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Complete quality checks as required prior to final packaging.
- Properly complete material identification tags per written instructions.
- Identify, and segregate scrap and any non-conforming pieces.
- Wear all required PPE (personal protective equipment).
- Participate, support, and comply with all Health, Safety, ISO Quality and Lean initiatives and requirements.
- Participate in corrective and preventive action processes.
- Initiate, recommend and provide process improvement solutions through designated channels.
- Perform other duties to support the operations as assigned by your supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
· High school diploma
· Physically able to stand, bend, climb, reach, and lift 40 lbs.
· Familiar with hand tooling (e.g. screwdriver, hammer, etc.) and machines (e.g. hand blast cabinet)
· Hand-eye coordination
· Good communication skills (verbal and written)
· Judgment and decision making
Additional experience:
· Manufacturing Experience
· Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings etc,
· Forklift operator experience
