SUMMARY:
Work safely and observe all plant safety, GMP, and food safety rules. Responsible for performing a variety of work in order to operate the Kitchen. Is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the kitchen, including, but not limited to preparation of products in accordance with department specifications, handling raw ingredients, processing ingredients in the kettles and vessels of the kitchen, operation of the surge tanks, performing quality inspections/testing, completion of required paperwork and maintenance of records. This position is responsible for sanitation and CIP work in the area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow all safety and GMP rules to assure zero accidents and compliance with food safety regulations.
- Perform tasks which support the continuous operation of the kitchen and production line. Such duties may include, but not be limited to:
- Handling and processing of ingredients in accordance with department specifications.
- Sanitation and CIP duties including, sweeping, mopping and washing of floors and equipment.
- Operation and simple maintenance of equipment for which the associate is trained.
- Perform quality assurance testing and record keeping.
- Performs other duties required of the position or as directed.
- Perform all TPM activities required.
- Lift up to 50 pounds independently.
- Perform visual inspections of materials and products.
- Record simple data on paper and/or via keyboard.
- Read and understand simple written instructions.
- Perform other physical tasks which require pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, walking, climbing (stairs and ladders), standing and sitting.
- Able to manipulate hands and fingers to perform a wide array of tasks including grasping of objects and other fine movements.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Work safely

- Must be able to work overtime on a short notice basis. Long-term, temporary assignments to any shift may be required to maintain manufacturing processes.
- Ability to work in high temperatures (hot or cold), working at heights and exposure to strong smells, dust, gases, fumes and chemical or require personal protective equipment.
- Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment.
- Must be able to pass a post offer pre-employment drug screening, pre-employment background check, and pre-employment physical.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical aspects of the job as performed in an 8-hour workday.
- Must be able to see, sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, reach, bend, twist, ascend/ descend.
- Ability to pull, push, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., 50+ lbs. with assistance.
