Material Handler I

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7 – 3:30, 7:30-4:00, 8:00-4:30
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for efficient and timely flow of raw and finished material through the facility. Verify and keep records on
incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and
shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying, and recording incoming merchandise or material;
and arranging for the transportation of products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Using Shipment pick-tickets to pull parts for orders and distribute to shipping line with accuracy. Use work orders to
pull parts and setup kits for Production. Deliver or route materials to departments.
Perform daily counts on raw, in-process and finished goods, and report discrepancies. Identify and correct data
errors in system and on hard copy, even if caused by others.
Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment. Examine contents
and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing
shipment.
Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.
Confer and correspond with Production and Warehouse Managers to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages,
and nonconformance to specifications.
Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools, power
tools, and postage meter.
Organize and document storage and movement of materials to satisfy production schedule
ESSENTIAL TASKS
Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting,
accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.

• Basic understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Ability to learn MiTek’s internal systems

• Ability to anticipate needs of production based on direction from supervisor.
• Ability to perform cycle counting in MiTek’s internal computer systems.
• Ability to become forklift certified and drive a forklift
