Role: Migration Break/Fix Specialist – (OpenShift / Kubernetes)
Location: India (Remote with limited onsite in Chennai/Hyderabad/Bangalore as required)
Duration: 6+ Months with a high possibility of extensions
Experience: 7–9 years
Work Model: Should be flexible with shift and should be able to accommodate for any shift depending on business need.
Role Summary:
Provide hands on technical break/fix and stabilization support during application migrations and cutovers from OpenShift on VMware to OpenShift on Bare Metal. Operate as a senior, self-sufficient migration specialist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot deployment, connectivity, and performance issues during migrations
- Support application teams with Helm charts, manifests, and configuration updates
- Provide break?fix support during test and production cutovers
- Handle non?standard migration issues independently
- Support phased migrations where legacy and modern platforms co?exist
- Document recurring issues and feed improvements into runbooks and playbooks
- Support post migration stabilization activities
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong Handson experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes
- Practical Helm troubleshooting and configuration experience
- Strong Linux and networking fundamentals
- Experience supporting production cutovers and migration waves
- Ability to operate under time critical conditions with minimal guidance
SRE Type Skills (Migration Context)
- Focus on stability and reliability during migration windows
- Incident triage and break/fix during cutovers
- No ownership of BAU SRE responsibilities or steady state ops
Scope Boundaries
- Application redesign, refactoring, and platform ownership are out of scope
- Role is strictly focused on migration execution and break/fix
