Job details:
A specialist integration engineering team within a leading financial services organisation is hiring a hands-on Middleware Developer.
The stack is Java / Spring Boot, Kafka, REST, and microservices. The integrations span core banking, LOS, LMS, CRM, credit bureaus, payment gateways, and KYC providers. The environment is regulated, high-availability, and production-critical — which means the work is technically serious and the discipline around it is non-negotiable.
If you have built integration components, owned messaging pipelines, and worked with external financial APIs — this is a role worth reading.
What you will build and own:
- REST and event-driven APIs across core banking, lending, payments, and analytics platforms
- Kafka / IBM MQ / ActiveMQ workflows — consumer groups, topic design, retry logic, dead-letter handling
- Integrations with credit bureaus — CIBIL, Experian, CRIF, CKYC — and KYC providers
- Payment gateway and fintech API integrations with full error handling and schema compliance
- ETL pipelines and data transformation logic for reporting and analytics feeds
- API security controls — authentication, authorisation, rate limiting, input validation
- Audit trails for regulated data flows
- Integration documentation: API contracts, sequence diagrams, runbooks
Technical stack:
Java / Spring Boot, REST, Microservices, JPA — core. Kafka or equivalent messaging platform — essential. Docker with OpenShift or Kubernetes — working knowledge required. Oracle / MySQL, Jenkins, GitHub / Bitbucket, Sonar, JIRA, Swagger, Postman.
API management platform experience — Apigee, Kong, MuleSoft, WSO2 — is a strong plus.
What we're looking for:
- 4–8 years of hands-on experience in middleware, integration engineering, or backend development — with integration as a primary responsibility
- Production-grade Java / Spring Boot — you write and own code, you don't just review it
- Real Kafka or messaging platform experience — consumer/producer development, error handling, not just configuration
- Hands-on integration with external APIs in the Indian financial services context — bureaus, payment gateways, or KYC providers
- Comfort in regulated environments where audit trail, PII handling, and change discipline are active requirements
- BFSI domain experience is preferred. Strong integration depth with Java and Kafka from outside BFSI will also be considered.
