Anticipated openings for 2026-27 school year
This is a yearly posting for internal paraprofessionals only (paras with 2025-26 Board approved hours/assignments and District Priority Paraprofessionals). This includes those with Category B, C, D assignments and who meet the qualifications below. All other paraprofessional positions for external candidates will be posted at a later date.
If you are a substitute paraprofessional or an external candidate, please do not continue with the application process at this time, as you will not be considered under this posting.
Qualifications *
- Minimum of 48 college credits or Paraprofessional Praxis test required.
- BS/BA degree preferred
- NJ Teaching Certificate preferred
- Board approved paraprofessional assignment or Priority List status as of May 1, 2026
Responsibilities
- Assists teacher in the delivery of effective instructional program
- Record and/or collect data under the direction of the teacher
- C/D Rate assignments: Monitor and implement a student's Behavior Intervention Plan / Address behavior as required
- C Rate assignments: Assist with physical care of students, including mobility, feeding, toileting, and diapering
*Please note, paraprofessionals who were hired and have been continuously employed with MTPS as of June 2005 and passed the in-district paraprofessional assessment are not required to meet the qualifications above.
