BUILDING SUBSTITUTE
Broad Function: Individuals selected for these important substitute teaching positions are assigned to a specific school building location each day Monday to Friday. Classroom assignments may vary at the Principal's discretion and based on school's needs. The position provides an excellent way to gain classroom experience for aspiring teachers or those who would like to be in a school setting.
Location: Lawrence Elementary School
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree
(The ED 174 waiver is a Connecticut State Department of Education form allowing districts to hire substitute teachers who do not hold a bachelor's degree. Applicants must be at least 18, hold a high school diploma, and have experience with school-age children.)
Salary & Benefits: Compensation is $140 per day with select medical insurance offered for those working as a Building Sub for more than 30 Hours a week. Building Subs work Monday-Friday for 182 days with start & end time based on their specific school assignment. Building Subs are only compensated for days worked. Building Subs are not expected to be present for District PDE or conference days unless otherwise notified.
