Job Title: Summer School Interventionist
Broad Function:
The Summer School Interventionist, reporting to the Summer School Coordinator, will support summer school teachers in planning and implementation of literacy or math interventions for students entering grades 1-6.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Develop intervention lessons for students to include specialized reading routines that include Structured Literacy, Fundations, comprehension skills, & math fluency component;
Support planning and implementation of Project Based Learning projects;
Supervise students daily during breakfast and lunch in the classroom;
Supervise recess breaks
Collect and analyze student data;
Communicate student progress to their parents/guardians regularly throughout program;
Complete an end of program progress report for each student worked with;
Promote positive behavior during all activities and transitions through effective implementation of SEL strategies;
Assist Summer School Coordinator in morning drop off and afternoon transition;
Manage behavior issues/concerns in accordance with established behavior policies;
Other duties as assigned by the Summer School Coordinator.
Compensation:
$26.03 Per Hour
Schedule:
Pre summer school professional development & planning TBD.
Summer School will be 4 weeks, July 6th-July 30th, Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-3:00pm
Qualifications:
CT Elementary Teaching Certification preferred;
District Interventionist:
Fundations/HILL for Literacy trained through district;
Demonstrated ability to motivate and engage students in learning activities
Instructional proficiency in literacy and math area required;
Knowledge and experience with the Connecticut Core Standards in ELA,math, and differentiated instructional teaching strategies required;
Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills;
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with individuals, teams and groups (teachers, parents, administrators and support staff);
First Aid/CPR Certification Preferred.
