Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated graduate research assistant (GRA) to support research activities for the project ‘Cognitive Twins: Leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Omniverse-Powered Digital Twins for Transforming Dubai’s Manufacturing Sector’. By integrating platforms such as NVIDIA AI, Omniverse, and OpenUSD, the project seeks to democratize digital twin technology for the resource-constrained SMEs. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and will be responsible for various research-related activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for highly motivated Master’s student or recent graduate with a background in Engineering, Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline who are interested in strengthening their research credentials and building their profile. The role is particularly beneficial for individuals aspiring to pursue careers in research and academia or applying for higher education (e.g., master’s or Ph.D. programs). The selected candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to high-impact publications, participate in conference presentations, and gain valuable experience in cutting-edge research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with AI and simulation tools such as NVIDIA Omniverse, OpenUSD, and SyncTwin platforms and support in the development of PoC digital twin.
  • Assist in survey research and interview data collection for the baseline study including recruitment, scheduling, and communication with research participants.
  • Support literature reviews and secondary data collection for the baseline study.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation including meeting records, reports, ethics protocols, ethics submissions, and data management plans.
  • Manage day-to-day tasks in alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Organize and participate in team meetings, provide updates, and contribute to brainstorming sessions.
  • Support in organizing workshops, symposiums, and industry engagement events.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master's degree Engineering, Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline
  • Proven-track record of academic excellence
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling, digital twin development, or virtual reality platforms
  • Experience in undertaking survey and interview-based research
  • Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and platforms
  • Willingness to learn new platforms such as Nvidia AI, Omniverse and OpenUSD
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary research team.

Compensation

A fixed stipend will be provided, corresponding to the qualifications and experience.
