About the role

Mid-coast Recreation Center in Rockport, ME is a Maine's premier sports & recreation center. We are a non-profit whose mission is to promote healthy living and build community through sport, fitness, and recreation. Our facility has a full size ice rink, 4 indoor tennis courts, 8 indoor pickleball courts, 4 outdoor tennis courts, 3 virtual golf simulators, and a fitness center. We’re seeking a motivated, execution-minded Marketing and Development Associate to join as a key member of our team. This role reports to the Director of Marketing & Development and works closely with them to define strategy, and then is responsible for executing on many individual marketing and development projects.

Description

*Depending on the candidate, we are willing to consider a 30 hr/week part-time role or a 40 hr/week full-time role.*

Job Responsibilities

Marketing:
Compose and send regular email marketing communications to all of our different customer segments
Update & maintain segmented email marketing lists
Post events to community calendars
Design event flyers
Organize & coordinate community events
Update website as new programs and events come up
Support event marketing with signage, give-aways, tabling, etc.
Communications
Manage communications calendar
Directly work with news outlets to promote Midcoast Rec
Receive, manage, and direct internal communications
Development
Process incoming donations & send acknowledgements
Serve on Development Committee; help plan and manage donor events
Help track & maintain donor relations
Support execution of donor campaigns/appeals

Skills/Experience

Comfortable with the complete Google Workplace suite
Experienced with creating visual assets and using design editors like Canva
Use of fundraising CRM or ability to learn quickly
Experience with email marketing platforms or ability to learn quickly
Experience with website management, via tools like Squarespace, Wix or GoDaddy
Strong critical thinking & problem solving skills
Strong writer and editor
Team player, collaborative work-style
Ability to work independently and hit deadlines
Comfortable with a fast-paced environment with lots of moving pieces
Ability to keep track of multiple priorities
Prior marketing experience a plus
Familiarity with digital marketing and communications a plus
