Responsibilities
- "Solution Design & Review: Review business and functional requirements and help shape D365 F&O solution designs prior to build, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and best practices.
- Functional-to-Technical Translation: Apply functional knowledge of D365 F&O to guide technical designs that accurately support business processes across Supply Chain Management and Finance.
- Technical Guidance: Provide hands-on guidance and consultation to engineers and contractors, helping teams evaluate multiple solution approaches and understand tradeoffs.
- Design & Code Quality Oversight: Review solution designs, pull requests, and implementations in GitHub to ensure quality, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Best Practices Enablement: Help reinforce and evolve D365 development, customization, integration, and source-control best practices in collaboration with engineering leadership.
- Estimation & Planning Support: Assist with technical scoping, effort estimation, dependency identification, and risk assessment for new requirements and user stories.
- Integration Consulting: Advise internal and partner teams on best practices for integrating with D365 F&O, including OData, DMF, Business Events, Dataverse, and Synapse-based patterns.
- Data & Reporting Guidance: Support reporting and analytics teams in understanding D365 table structures, relationships, and data access patterns across Dataverse and Synapse.
- Operational Considerations: Ensure solution designs account for deployment, monitoring, supportability, and long-term operational impact.
- Continuous Improvement: Partner closely with the D365 engineering manager to identify gaps, recommend improvements, and help introduce new technical practices or standards.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Act as a trusted technical advisor to adjacent platform, integration, and data teams."
Required Skills
- "Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 8–10+ years of experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (or Dynamics AX).
- Strong functional knowledge of D365 F&O, with the ability to understand and reason about business processes in Supply Chain Management and Finance.
- Deep understanding of D365 F&O architecture, extensibility patterns, and platform limitations.
- Proven experience providing technical leadership and architectural guidance in a non-people-manager capacity.
- Expertise in D365 integration patterns, including OData, DMF, Business Events, Dataverse, and Synapse Link.
- Strong understanding of D365 data models, table relationships, and reporting considerations.
- Experience using GitHub for source control, including reviewing pull requests and guiding branching and code review practices.
- Ability to evaluate multiple solution approaches and clearly articulate tradeoffs to technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience supporting estimation, planning, and technical decision-making in Agile delivery environments.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence without authority.
Preferred
- Prior experience in a D365 Technical Architect or Senior Technical Lead role.
- Experience working with teams that include both full-time engineers and contract resources.
- Familiarity with Power Platform extensibility and integration patterns.
- Experience guiding teams using Synapse analytics, data lake architectures, or near–real-time data replication.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and release processes for D365 F&O.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., MB-300, MB-500, MB-700, or architecture-focused credentials)."
