Role Summary
The Microsoft 365 Platform Administrator is responsible for the administration, configuration, security, and operational excellence of the Microsoft 365 platform, with deep hands‑on expertise in the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Data verse).
This role serves as a platform generalist with Power Platform strength, ensuring Microsoft 365 services are secure, scalable, well‑governed, and aligned to enterprise standards, while enabling business automation, collaboration, and digital productivity across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Microsoft 365 Platform Administration
- Administer and support core Microsoft 365 services, including:
- SharePoint Online
- Microsoft Teams
- Power Platform
- Support identity, access, and role‑based administration (in partnership with IAM/Security)
Power Platform (Primary Focus Area)
- Administer and govern:
- Power Apps (Canvas & Model‑Driven)
- Power Automate (Cloud & Desktop flows)
- Power BI (workspaces, datasets, gateways)
- Data verse environments
- Design and enforce Power Platform governance:
- Environment strategy (Prod, Non‑Prod, Personal)
- DLP policies
- Connector controls
- Licensing and capacity management
- Support automation and low‑code solutions for business teams
- Partner with developers, architects, and business users to scale adoption safely
Security, Compliance & Governance
- Implement and enforce platform policies related to:
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
- Retention and records management
- Sensitivity labels and information protection
- Partner with Security, Compliance, and Enterprise Architecture teams
- Review and approve third‑party integrations and connectors
- Support audits, eDiscovery, and regulatory requirements
Automation & Platform Engineering
- Use PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and APIs to automate:
- Tenant administration
- User and access management
- Reporting and compliance checks
- Build repeatable, scalable operational processes
- Maintain runbooks, standards, and technical documentation
Support & Operations
- Act as Tier 2 / Tier 3 escalation for Microsoft 365 platform issues
- Troubleshoot issues across collaboration, automation, identity, and data services
- Coordinate with Microsoft Support and managed service providers
- Support platform incidents, changes, and service improvements
Collaboration & Enablement
- Partner closely with:
- Digital Workspace & M365 Engineering
- Enterprise Architecture
- Security & Compliance
- Regional IT and Business Units
- Provide guidance, best practices, and guardrails for platform usage
- Support adoption, training, and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience administering Microsoft 365
- Strong hands‑on experience with the Power Platform
- Solid understanding of:
- Microsoft 365 architecture and service interdependencies
- Security, identity, and compliance concepts
- Governance models for enterprise platforms
- Experience using PowerShell and/or Graph for administration
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating in a global or multi‑geo tenant
- Familiarity with:
- Microsoft Purview
- Conditional Access and Zero Trust concepts
- CI/CD for Power Platform solutions
- Microsoft certifications (Power Platform, M365, Security)
- Experience supporting low‑code / citizen development at scale
