Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Microbiologist role based in Odisha, India. The Microbiologist will conduct routine microbiological testing of water, raw materials, packaging, and finished products to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements. Daily responsibilities include preparing and maintaining culture media, handling and calibrating laboratory equipment, recording and analyzing test results, and maintaining accurate documentation and reports. The role involves monitoring hygiene and sanitation practices in the plant, supporting quality control checks on production lines, and assisting in root-cause analysis and corrective actions for any deviations. The Microbiologist will collaborate closely with production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to uphold product safety, support audits, and continuously improve laboratory and quality processes.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Microbiology, including water and environmental microbiology, pathogen detection, and microbial enumeration methods.
- Hands-on Laboratory Skills and experience with Laboratory Equipment such as incubators, autoclaves, laminar flow units, and microscopes.
- Proficiency in Quality Control activities, including routine sampling, testing, data recording, and trend analysis.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance principles, documentation practices, and compliance with relevant food and beverage safety standards.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related life science discipline.
- Experience in food, beverage, or bottled water industries is preferred.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures, maintain detailed records, and support internal and external audits.
- Strong observation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
