Support Center - Irving
Michaels Software Engineers will develop technologies that change how our customers connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. As an Associate Software Engineer, you will work on projects critical to Michaels needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve.
Major Activities
Collaborate with team members to design, develop, and test software applications
Help improve system quality by identifying issues, common patterns and documenting standard operating procedures
Enhance applications by identifying opportunities for improvement and participate in system implementations
Maintain existing codebases and code changes
Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
Work with teams to assist in implementing technical designs
Use new technologies where relevant
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
Participate in code reviews and team discussions
Assist in the documentation of software specifications and user guides
Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Education
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Minimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills
Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript
Familiarity with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, and frameworks like React or Angular) is a plus.
Understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum)
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires
0-2 years of software engineering experience
