About the role

Job Purpose & Summary
Meyer Lab is seeking a dependable Account Receivable Specialist. The Accounts Receivable Specialist (ARS) is responsible for ensuring all incoming payments are received and accurately processed. In addition, they are responsible for tracking receipts, regularly checking for payment discrepancies, and contacting customers to address outstanding payments. The ARS and Staff Accountant will partner together to serve as a backup for the Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist as business needs require. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
•    Receive and accurately process all ACH, credit card, and check payments.
•    Track and audit receipts, regularly check for and reconcile payment discrepancies.
•    Contact customers to address and collect on outstanding payments. 
•    Actively investigate and resolve irregularities for both incoming and outgoing payments as needed. 
•    Create and prepare reports for operations and sales team financial analysis.
•    Assist with vendor forms, tax exemptions, certificate of insurance, W-9, and banking information requests as business needs require. 
•    Upload and maintain customer sales tax exemptions in Avalara
•    Process credit adjustments for sales tax exemptions inside Avalara and NetSuite
•    Serve as back up for portal customer uploads
•    Assist Accounting Manager with Balance Sheet reconciliations for month end close
•    Assist staff accountant at Tucker facility with collections from customers
•    Collect on outstanding balances for the Canada location
•    Process dunning letters within the system

Education / Work Experience & Requirements
•    Minimum of two years of accounts receivable experience.
•    Demonstrated analytical abilities to assist with data analysis, financial discussions, etc. 
•    Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Intermediate Excel skills) 
•    Experience with NetSuite and Avalara a plus
•    Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
•    High performer and problem solver that is a self-starter with personal accountability and follow-through. 

Travel & Physical Requirements
•    No Travel.
•    Desk and computer work required.
