POSITION SUMMARY:
Professional and Technical (P&T) staff analysts offer several key benefits to the Terminal Car Cleaning operation. Analysts may be responsible for record-keeping, tracking employee retention, creating/updating employee files, review timecards and assisting management with ad hoc projects which will reduce errors and increase administrative transparency. These staff members will also take on dedicated responsibilities for payroll audits and scheduling, streamlining administrative processes to contribute to the needs of the operation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The selected candidate will be responsible for the following task and duties:
- Centralized record keeping including maintaining the employee roster, updating emergency contacts, securing personnel files and filing.
- Processing Injury on Duty (IOD reports), leave requests, FMLA, Sick, and or Vacation.
- Creating and analyzing spreadsheets, reviewing training compliance using Peoplesoft (ELM) to generate queries.
- Handling procurement requisitions, supply orders, asset recovery,
- Audit weekly timecard reports utilizing Automated Timekeeping System (ATS), payroll corrections, and reconciling other time leave balances.
- Assist with miscellaneous projects as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Assistant Transit Management Analyst I – II:
- A master's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, or
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience working in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, engineering, in management or methods of analysis, operations research, organization research or program evaluation, personnel or public administration, staff development, employment program planning or administration, security management; or general administration.
Associate Transit Management Analyst:
- A master's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and one year of full-time satisfactory experience working in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, engineering, in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation, personnel or public administration, staff development, employment program planning or administration, security management; or general administration; or
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; and three years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in “1” above.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Excellent oral and written skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Utilizing NYCTA software programs (ATS, SPEAR, Hexagon, PeopleSoft)
- Data retention (filing)
