About the role

Position: Forming Competitiveness Specialist

Duties: Responsible for ensuring the correct definition and execution of key Competitive Strategies by working together with the Operations Intelligence Team and the Plant Finance Teams to meet financial performance.  Provide stamping competitiveness roadmap execution (NSPM, Labor Cost) technical support and follow up with Plant’s Functional Teams (stamping).  Lead and follow up with Plants the competitiveness forums.  Serve as bridge between Operations Intelligence and all Light Truck Vehicle Plant’s Functional Teams for adequate strategies identification and technical deployment to boost performance.  Support new program process definition and deployment to ensure it aligns with Plant of the Future Concepts that enables future competitiveness and business model.  Effective Plant CAPEX & Maintenance Projects Management across all LV Plant’s Operations Strategy.  Work with Plants to develop Competitiveness Roadmaps for Core Processes to meet MPC Parameters (Transformation Cost, Stamping – capacity, cost/stroke, NSPM, etc.).  Work with Procurement to define the long-term Stamping Strategy (make vs. buy).  Define key strategies for each plant to enable their long-term transition for Next Generation Platforms.  Lead disruptive low-cost operation models definition (in-house knowledge and benchmarks).  Actively support winning business process through key inputs for the value proposal such as the Mfg. Model, Footprint, Collaterals, Assembly Com (ACE), etc.  Perform other duties/responsibilities at the Elizabethtown, KY facility, as needed.

Location: Elizabethtown, KY

Minimum Qualifications:           

Education: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or related field of study. 

Experience: 5 years of experience in the job offered, or in maintenance and/or manufacturing engineering position within the automotive chassis frame industry.  Experience must include the preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance of hydroforming plant.  Must have hands-on experience  in the maintenance of CAPEX implementation.  Experience can be gained concurrently.  Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
