About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and Manufacturing Metallurgist to lead the development, optimization, and scale-up of copper alloy products and manufacturing processes. This role bridges research, product development, and production, requiring close collaboration with both the Delhi R&D team and the Sonipat manufacturing facility.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metallurgy, materials engineering, or process development, with experience in metallic materials such as copper, titanium, nickel alloys, metal matrix composites (MMCs), ceramics, or other advanced engineering materials. Prior copper industry experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize copper alloy compositions and manufacturing processes.
- Design, execute, and analyze laboratory and production-scale experiments.
- Support process improvements to enhance quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
- Work closely with production teams to troubleshoot metallurgical and manufacturing challenges.
- Evaluate microstructure, mechanical properties, and process-performance relationships.
- Prepare technical reports, SOPs, and documentation for R&D and production.
- Coordinate technology transfer from laboratory development to commercial manufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, procurement, and product development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–10+ years of relevant industrial experience in R&D, process development, manufacturing, or metallurgical engineering.
Experience working with metallic materials such as:
- Copper alloys
- Titanium alloys
- Nickel alloys
- Metal Matrix Composites (MMCs)
- Advanced ceramics
- Other engineering alloys or advanced materials
- Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment, microstructure, manufacturing processes, and material characterization.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Work Location & Travel Requirements
This is a full-time, in-office position.
The role requires:
- Working from the Delhi office five days per week (Monday–Friday).
- Regular visits to our Sonipat manufacturing facility are mandatory for process development, production trials, troubleshooting, and implementation of R&D projects.
- May require domestic client site visits.
- May require international client site visits
