Research Scientist, Federated Learning Facebook AI Research (FAIR) is seeking a Research Scientist to work on Federated Learning. Federated Learning is a revolutionary AI paradigm that enables training machine learning models on decentralized data, without having to collect the data centrally. This approach has the potential to transform the future of AI and enable new privacy-preserving applications. As a Research Scientist on the Federated Learning team, you will help drive the technical vision and roadmap of this emerging field. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research, build novel algorithms and systems, and collaborate with world-class researchers and engineers to bring these innovations to scale. Responsibilities: - Conduct research into novel federated learning algorithms, systems, and applications - Develop new techniques for scalable, robust, and privacy-preserving federated learning - Publish impactful research papers and contribute to the open-source federated learning ecosystem - Collaborate closely with product teams to turn research innovations into real-world products Qualifications: - PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field - Strong background in machine learning, optimization, and distributed systems - Excellent programming and software engineering skills - Experience with federated learning, distributed optimization, or privacy-preserving ML is a plus - Passion for tackling challenging research problems and translating them into impact
