MES Integration Lead
Experience: 8–12+ years
Role Overview
The MES Integration Lead is responsible for designing, leading, and delivering end-to-end integrations between Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and enterprise, plant, and automation systems. This role ensures seamless data flow across shop-floor and business systems, enabling real-time visibility, operational efficiency, and scalable digital manufacturing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Integration & Architecture
Lead the integration of MES with ERP, PLM, SCADA, Historian, WMS, and LIMS systems
Define integration architecture using APIs, middleware, message queues, and event-driven models
Ensure data consistency, security, and performance across systems
Technical Leadership
Own technical design, integration standards, and best practices
Review and approve integration specifications, mappings, and interface designs
Troubleshoot complex integration issues and lead root cause analysis
Project Delivery
Drive MES integration delivery across multiple plants and programs
Collaborate with solution architects, developers, QA, and infrastructure teams
Manage dependencies, risks, and integration milestones
Stakeholder Collaboration
Act as the primary technical interface with business, IT, OT, and vendors
Translate business and manufacturing requirements into integration solutions
Support client workshops, design reviews, and solution walkthroughs
Governance & Quality
Ensure compliance with security, data governance, and validation standards
Define monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms
Support validation documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ) where required
Required Skills & Experience
MES & Manufacturing
Strong experience with Rockwell FTPS MES platform and integration with other Manufacturing applications like WMS / PLM / LIMS / SAP / etc.
Experience with other MES platforms like Siemens Opcenter, Apriso, Camstar, etc is an added bonus
Deep understanding of manufacturing processes: production, quality, inventory, genealogy, and traceability
Integration Technologies
REST/SOAP APIs, Web Services
Middleware / iPaaS (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi, SAP CPI)
Messaging protocols: MQTT, AMQP, Kafka
Industrial protocols: OPC UA, PLC integration
Enterprise Systems
ERP integration experience (SAP preferred)
Familiarity with PLM, WMS, and Data Historians
Technical Skills
Data modeling, mapping, and transformation
SQL and database integration
