About the role

We are seeking a Biology Expert to collaborate with leading AI researchers in training and refining foundational models for advanced biological reasoning. Your expertise will ensure the model's accuracy, scientific rigor, and ability to tackle complex biological concepts—from molecular mechanisms to ecological systems. Model Training & Scientific Validation: Review and refine AI-generated biological explanations, ensuring alignment with current scientific consensus. Verify accuracy in areas like genetic pathways, physiological processes, and ecological interactions. Identify and correct misconceptions, oversimplifications, or outdated information in model outputs. Biological Domains Covered: Core Disciplines: Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Microbiology. Organismal & Systems Biology: Anatomy, Physiology, Immunology, Neurobiology, Botany, Zoology. Applied & Interdisciplinary Fields: Genomics, Bioinformatics, Evolutionary Biology, Environmental Biology, Virology. Advanced Topics: CRISPR technology, metabolic pathways, population genetics, phylogenetic analysis. Educational & Analytical Rigor: Structure responses with clear, step-by-step explanations suitable for diverse learners (e.g., students, researchers). Cross-reference authoritative sources (e.g., Nature, Cell, NCBI databases, Campbell Biology) to validate content. Provide feedback on problem-solving approaches, experimental design, and data interpretation. Collaboration & Iteration: Work closely with AI researchers to align training data with real-world biological challenges (e.g., drug discovery, climate impacts). Adapt content complexity for varying audiences, from introductory to graduate-level biology. Ideal Qualifications: Scientific Expertise: Deep knowledge of biological principles, with the ability to critique and improve technical explanations. Precision: Keen eye for detail (e.g., correct terminology, accurate diagrams, proper citations). Communication: Skill in distilling complex topics (e.g., PCR, neural synapses) into accessible, engaging explanations. Teaching or Competition Background: Prior experience as a TA, tutor, or biology Olympiad participant is a plus. Minimum Qualifications: Degree (completed or in progress) in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field from a US/Canadian university. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Availability for 20–40 hours/week during the project period.
