Senior Strategic Finance Advisor

Mercor is seeking senior finance leaders to advise a top-tier AI company developing innovative tools to assist finance teams with forecasting, analysis, and strategic decision-making.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who has previously held leadership roles such as Head/VP of Finance or CFO to influence the next generation of AI-powered financial systems.

What You'll Do:

• Serve as a subject matter expert for strategic finance and enterprise planning
• Share insights on high-level decision-making workflows, team structure, and tool adoption
• Participate in evaluations and design discussions with AI engineers
• Provide feedback on model outputs, data organization, and key strategic finance questions AI should solve
• Help build out realistic use cases and benchmark expectations for financial software

Ideal Profile:

• 5+ years of experience in finance leadership, ideally at venture-backed or public companies
• Deep expertise in strategic finance, budgeting, board reporting, and scenario planning
• Experience leading teams, managing P&L forecasts, and collaborating with C-suite stakeholders
• Fluency with financial planning systems (Anaplan, Adaptive, Oracle, etc.)
• Familiarity with tech-enabled FP&A stacks and financial process optimization
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate abstract concepts into finance-relevant frameworks

Excluded Areas: This role does not involve work in accounting, tax, AP/AR, or financial reporting functions.

With respect to pay and legal status:

• We will pay you out at the end of each week via Stripe Connect.
• You will log the number of hours you spend each week.
• You will be classified as an “at-will” contractor to Mercor.

This position pays $100-$150/hr (depending on your background, experience and location). However, exceptions can be made on a discretionary basis to offer competitive pay for those with exceptional experience.
