About the role
Mercor is seeking Senior Software Engineers with a strong background in building modern software systems and contributing to open-source repositories to help train frontier models at a leading AI lab.
You are a good fit if you:
Have deep expertise in one or more of the following languages: Rust, Ruby, Go, C++, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, Python, C
Have 3+ years of full-time industry experience working directly with one of the above languages
Or, you have comparably large-scale contributions to complex open-source projects
Are available for a minimum of 10 hours per week
Assessment process:

30 minute behavioral + technical interview with an AI interviewer (heads up that this will begin as soon as your resume is uploaded, although you can come back and finish it later if you prefer!)

Job details:
This project will involve working with open-source repositories
The project work is fully asynchronous and can be done around your schedule
This project requires a minimum time commitment of 10 hours per week, but you may become eligible to contribute up to 40 hours per week
With respect to pay and legal status:
We can meet industry-standard compensation expectations for your current role
You will be classified as an "at-will" independent contractor to Mercor
We are primarily recruiting candidates based in the US, Canada, or Europe, but will consider top candidates from other geographies
We cannot currently support H1-B or STEM OPT status candidates
The advertised pay range is for U.S.
