General Office Clerk

We are looking for an Office Clerk to write, review, and validate prompt-based questions designed to train AI.

Your expertise in general clerical support, file organization, internal communication, and administrative coordination will ensure each prompt and response reflects how real-world office professionals manage routine tasks, support teams, and maintain workplace efficiency. You’ll help shape how AI understands standard office procedures across industries including education, business, healthcare, and government.

You are a good fit if you:

• Have over 3+ years of professional experience in general office or clerical support roles
• Have a bachelor's degree or an associate degree in business administration, office technology, or related field (or equivalent clerical experience)
• Are currently based in the United States, United Kingdom, or Canada
• Have a strong background in areas such as answering phones and routing calls, filing paperwork, sorting mail, processing internal forms, maintaining supply logs, copying/scanning documents, entering basic data, and assisting with meeting prep or team scheduling
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Have strong attention to details

Role Highlights

• Flexible workload: 10–20 hours per week, with potential to increase to 40 hours.
• Fully remote and asynchronous—work on your own schedule.
• Minimum duration: 1–2 months, with potential for extension.

Role Start Date

• This role will begin in mid to late-July with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

Interview Process

• You will take an AI interview where you will be asked questions about your background in clerical duties, documentation, and administrative coordination.
• You will share your screen and write a detailed prompt to generate an AI response about an office scenario.
• You will evaluate and compare LLM outputs to determine which response is more effective and accurate.
• Applicants will be selected based on their performance in the AI interview and on the accuracy and quality of their evaluations.

Compensation and Legal Details

• You will be legally classified as an hourly contractor for Mercor
• We will pay you out at the end of each week via Stripe Connect
