About the role

Join forces with a leading AI research lab to help train their foundational model to better understand and teach advanced computer science topics. You'll play a key role in shaping how large language models (LLMs) grasp and explain complex CS concepts—building smarter, more capable AI systems that learn from the best: you. You're an ideal candidate if you: Hold (or are pursuing) a degree in Computer Science or a related field from a US/Canadian university Have deep understanding of advanced CS concepts such as algorithms, data structures, systems design, and theory of computation Possess exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking skills Communicate clearly and effectively in both writing and conversation Have experience teaching, tutoring, or mentoring in computer science topics Bonus: You've participated in research, published papers, or contributed to high-level CS projects Collaborate directly with top AI researchers Workload: 20 hours/week Fully remote and asynchronous — work on your own schedule Topics may include: algorithmic analysis, graph theory, dynamic programming, distributed systems, concurrency, compilers, complexity theory, cryptography, and computer architecture $98/hour paid weekly via Stripe Connect as a contractor Project duration: 1 - 2 weeks, requiring 20 hours/week availability Mercor is a San Francisco-based company that connects domain experts with cutting-edge AI research labs.
