Role Description The Merchandiser role at HAY! is a full-time hybrid position based in Jaipur, with flexibility for partial work from home. In this role, the Merchandiser is responsible for planning product assortments, monitoring sales performance, and ensuring that merchandise aligns with brand standards and customer demand. Daily tasks include coordinating with design, buying, and retail teams, analyzing inventory and turnover, and adjusting stock levels to optimize sales. The Merchandiser will oversee in-store visual presentation guidelines, support seasonal collection planning, and prepare reports on product performance and market trends. This role also involves staying informed about competitive activity and customer preferences to support a consistent, appealing brand experience.
Qualifications
- Strong merchandising and assortment planning skills, including experience with inventory management and stock optimization.
- Proficiency in sales analysis, reporting, and use of spreadsheets or merchandising tools to interpret data and guide decisions.
- Understanding of fashion retail, including product lifecycle, pricing strategies, and visual merchandising principles.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with buying, design, marketing, and store operations teams.
- Ability to balance on-site responsibilities in Jaipur with independent work from home, maintaining reliability and accountability.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple collections, timelines, and store requirements.
- Prior experience in fashion or apparel merchandising is preferred; exposure to women’s or urban fashion is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Management, Retail Management, Business, or a related field is beneficial.
