The Driver will commence their shift with a truck assignment. Each Monday the Driver completes an inspection of the truck and documents all observations on an inspection sheet which is provided to the Office Manager.
Each Driver is assigned a crew of three. Each crew is assigned designated work sites. The work site will determine which specific equipment and tools are necessary for the tasks to be completed. The crew will enter the warehouse and check out weeders, edgers, lasers, and other necessary equipment. The equipment is loaded onto truck trailers.
Upon arrival to the designated worksite, the back metal tailgate is opened and the tools are unloaded. The tasks to be completed will include: trimming, weed-eating, blowing, stick edging, manual edging, power washing, and possibly operating a three wheel tractor to drag the baseball fields. A bobcat may be utilized when clearing hills of brush, as necessary. Planting may occur, as necessary. A smoke machine may be used to eradicate gophers. Park tables, bleachers, playground equipment, pool decks, and outdoor event areas are powers washed. Bathrooms are cleaned at each site. The bathroom cleaning will include using a broom, mop, and cleaning supplies.
Park trashcans are emptied and loaded onto a golf cart. The eco friendly garbage is loaded onto burlap bags which the Driver takes to a location in Chino for eco-friendly waste.
The driver is also responsible for ensuring the fuel level remains sufficient in the truck to travel to the works sites. The Driver will add fuel as necessary.
At the end of the shift, the Driver will return to the yard, and the crew will unload all of the requisitioned tools and equipment checked out at the beginning of the shift.
