About us
Little Eco Threads is the Kidswear division of Home Fashions and we've been manufacturing and exporting children's apparel and soft goods for over 25 years. We're GOTS, GRS, and SEDEX certified, with buyers across Europe, USA, and Australia. We've been producing plush at a smaller scale for some time and are now building a dedicated plush toy division to serve both domestic and international markets at scale.
The role
You will own the buyer relationship from first conversation through shipped order. That means costing, sampling, production planning, compliance, and delivery, but the heart of the job is the people side: knowing which buyers to call, what they care about, and how to win their orders. We are hiring you in large part for your existing relationships with toy brands and retail buyers, both domestic and international.
What you will do
- Open doors. Bring active relationships with plush toy buyers, brand sourcing teams, and retail buying offices, and develop new ones through trade shows, referrals, and direct outreach.
- Own buyer communication end to end, from initial pitch and tech pack review through PO confirmation, production updates, and post-shipment follow-up.
- Build and negotiate costings on plush programs, including fabric (minky, sherpa, boucle, organic cotton), fill, embroidery, accessories, packaging, and trims.
- Coordinate sample development with the in-house designer and sampling team, managing timelines and revisions to hit buyer calendar milestones.
- Track production status with the factory floor and flag risks early. Keep buyers informed in a way that builds trust rather than firefights.
- Ensure every program meets the relevant safety and compliance standards (EN71, ASTM F963, CPSIA, REACH, and others as required by destination market) and coordinate third-party testing.
- Build out merchandising systems, templates, and trackers for the new division alongside the leadership team.
What you bring
- 5+ years of merchandising experience in plush or soft toys, working with brands or retailers as a manufacturer or buying house. Apparel-only backgrounds will not be a fit for this role.
- A working buyer book. We will ask about specific accounts you have shipped to or are in active conversation with, both Indian and overseas.
- Hands-on knowledge of plush construction, materials, and the realistic cost and lead time drivers behind a program.
- Strong grasp of toy safety and compliance regimes across at least two of: EU, UK, US, Australia, Middle East.
- Confident written and spoken English.
- Comfortable with costing sheets, tech packs, and standard merchandising tools.
Nice to have
- Experience launching a new category or division at a previous employer.
- Background working with sustainable or certified material programs (GOTS, GRS, OEKO-TEX).
What you get
- A division to build, not just a desk to inherit. Real influence on product direction, buyer strategy, and team hiring.
- Direct access to ownership and fast decisions.
- Competitive salary based on experience and book, plus performance incentives tied to division growth.
- Support from an established 25-year-old business with infrastructure, certifications, and a working compliance backbone already in place.
