Key Responsibilities
• Manage end-to-end merchandising for handknit garment and wool export products — from sampling through final shipment.
• Oversee and coordinate designers and artisans, ensuring design intent is accurately translated into production.
• Serve as the key point of contact between buyers, design teams, artisans, and vendors.
• Lead product development cycles: sampling, costing, correction rounds, and buyer approvals.
• Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with vendors and suppliers.
• Track production timelines, manage bottlenecks, and maintain quality standards throughout.
• Maintain merchandising reports, costing sheets, and sample/order trackers.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Management, or a related field.
• 0–6 years of experience in garment, textile, wool, or export merchandising.
• Prior experience at a design house or design-led production environment is essential.
• Strong working knowledge of garment and textile construction — sufficient to manage and evaluate designer output.
• Hands-on experience with handknit or artisan garment production processes.
• Experience in buyer handling, vendor coordination, and artisan management.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and standard merchandising tools.
Good to Have
• Exposure to wool, specialty fibres, or craft-based product lines.
• Knowledge of trade processes.
• Graduates from recognised design institutions will have an added advantage.
