Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Merchandiser based in Mumbai. Responsibilities include planning and managing inventory, analyzing store inventory trends, coordinating with suppliers and manufacturers, and ensuring the product range aligns with brand identity and sales trends. The Merchandiser will work closely with the retail sales teams to optimize product displays, ensure sales growth, and maintain exceptional customer satisfaction levels. The candidate will also track sales data, forecast inventory needs, and contribute to creating impactful merchandising strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product Planning & Assortment Management
- Assist in planning and curating product assortments based on sales trends, customer preferences, and regional demands.
- Coordinate with design and production teams to develop commercially viable and trend-driven collections.
- Support seasonal line planning, product launches, and merchandise calendar management.
2. Inventory & Stock Management
- Monitor inventory levels across stores and online platforms to ensure optimal stock availability.
- Track sell-through rates, identify slow-moving SKUs, and coordinate inter-store transfers or markdowns.
- Work closely with supply chain and retail teams for replenishment and allocation planning.
3. Sales & Performance Analysis
- Analyze sales reports and performance data to identify trends and actionable insights.
- Provide regular feedback to the design and production teams on bestsellers and gaps in product mix.
- Prepare periodic merchandising dashboards and reports for management.
4. Production Coordination
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure timely product development and delivery.
- Track order status, quality checks, and approvals in alignment with merchandising timelines.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Fashion Merchandising, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in merchandising — preferably in jewellery, fashion, or luxury retail.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
- Good understanding of jewellery categories, trends, and customer preferences.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational abilities.
- A balance of creative eye and commercial mindset.
