About the Role:
We are a B2B knitwear manufacturing company looking for a Merchandiser to manage sample development, buyer coordination, and production execution for our apparel orders. This role works closely with our in-house CAD team and coordinates directly with buyers to ensure samples, fabrics, and trims are approved and production stays on track.
Key Responsibilities:
Sample Development & Artwork
- Correct and prepare artwork, prints, labels, and spec sheets using Photoshop and Illustrator
- Coordinate with the CAD team to relay buyer corrections and ensure pattern accuracy
- Manage the sample development cycle from first sample to buyer approval
Buyer Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for buyers on sample approvals and order execution
- Communicate garment construction and spec details clearly to buyers and internal teams
- Track and report production status to buyers regularly
Fabric, Trims & Approvals
- Follow up on fabric approvals with buyers and vendors
- Source, coordinate, and get approvals for trims and labels
- Ensure all approved components are available in time for production
Production Coordination
- Work with the factory floor to track production progress against timelines
- Flag delays or issues proactively and coordinate resolutions
- Maintain clear documentation of approvals, corrections, and production milestones
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator (mandatory)
- Working knowledge of garment construction terminology (seam allowance, measurements, grading)
- Prior experience in merchandising, sample coordination, or buyer liaison in the apparel/garment industry
- Strong communication skills — comfortable managing buyer relationships directly
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple orders simultaneously
