Description
Shift: 4:00pm – 12:00am
Status: Full-Time; 8 shifts per biweekly pay period
Weekends: Yes- Every Other Weekend
Holidays: Yes- Rotation
This is a temporary position. This position reports to the Patient Access Manager.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Medical terminology/ background preferred.
- Previous clerical and/or healthcare setting experience preferred.
- CPR/BLS within 90 days of hire.
- Prior experience with electronic health record.
Responsibilities:
· Portrays a professional, courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude to customers.
· Expedites and provides healthcare access through the accurate gathering of demographic, financial insurance verification and/or certification for admissions, order entry and charge entry.
· Responsible for point of service collection while exhibiting warmth, compassion and responsiveness to patients, their families and friends, professionals and co-workers.
· Collaborates and establishes a good working rapport with co-workers and all internal/external customers in order to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency.
· Performs other projects, tasks, or duties as assigned and/or needed.
Skill/Ability:
· Must have the ability to remain calm and handle stressful situations.
· Must be able to handle a fast-paced work environment.
· Strong clerical skills required. Must demonstrate excellent telephone etiquette along with an ability to work with the public.
· Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
· Positive service oriented interpersonal skills are required.
· Must demonstrate networking skills with other departments and effective communication with individuals of all ages.
· Demonstrates/uses effective problem solving skills.
· Must have the ability to work both independently and as a team player, to exercise good judgment and to successfully manage a variety/multi tasks.
