About the role
This internship is expected to start around April 14th, 2025 and end by December 31st, 2025. The internship will provide the opportunity to learn of Mercedes-Benz Electrified Vehicles from the different aspects of the product development cycle and stakeholder's roles and responsibilities. Job Responsibilities: Experience in planning, testing, and evaluation on high-voltage wide bandgap based power devices (silicon carbide, gallium nitride, etc.) such as double-pulse testing, static characterization, and results analysis. Develop functional simulation models of power electronic components including inverter, motor, gate drivers, DCDC converters, etc. Develop a comprehensive EV powertrain simulation model characterize semiconductor impact on performance. Carry out competitor analysis (benchmark) of power electronics solutions and to develop an interactive and visual database capturing key performance metrics. Regular and proactive communication with stakeholders to update status, delays, risks, and challenges. Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of Masters degree in electrical, electronic or computer science engineering. Ph.D. preferred with relevant research experience. A Driver's license is required for this role. Knowledge about key EV charging related topics such as charging concepts, electric vehicle charging technology, and charging infrastructure. Working experience in power electronics, collaborative workspace confluence and Jira Knowledge about automotive system engineering such as design of on-board charger, DCDC converter, inverters, etc. Familiar with the office tools such as MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook). Project Management Skills (Communication / Time Management). Knowledge about creating visualizations, databases, reports using PowerBI, Python, or similar tools. Excellent English Communication skills and working in a collaborative environment such as shared Cloud Drives, Confluence, Jira , MS teams. Knowledge about AI and machine learning concepts and applications. Excellent troubleshooting, communication, problem solving, and technical writing skills. Team player and detail oriented. Ability to understand and interpret the requirements. Strong planning and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications: A minimum of Masters degree in electrical, electronic or computer science engineering. Ph.D. preferred with relevant research experience.
