MEP Procurement Manager
M Moser Associates India is looking for an experienced MEP Procurement Manager to support procurement for our interior fit-out design and build projects.
Job Overview
Working with M Moser’s multidisciplinary teams of architects, designers, engineers and construction professionals, you will plan and deliver procurement for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and other building services packages. You will work with project and commercial teams to secure compliant, competitive and timely supply, while maintaining clear records and strong controls. The role can be based in Bangalore or Mumbai.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project procurement plans, package strategies and tender schedules for MEP works, aligned with design information, programme, budget and project delivery requirements.
- Review drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and consultant estimates with the design, engineering and commercial teams to identify scope gaps, interfaces, long-lead items and procurement risks before tender.
- Prepare clear requests for quotation and tender packages, including scope, quantities, technical requirements, programme, commercial terms and required returnables.
- Identify, prequalify and invite suitable contractors, suppliers and manufacturers, maintaining a competitive and capable supply chain for each project.
- Manage tender processes from issue through clarification, analysis and recommendation, ensuring that technical compliance and commercial comparison are assessed consistently.
- Coordinate technical reviews with project engineers and designers; resolve exclusions, qualifications, deviations, substitutions and interface questions before award.
- Prepare bid comparisons and award recommendations, including scope alignment, price analysis, risks, assumptions and any proposed value engineering options.
- Lead commercial negotiations within approved budgets and delegated authority, and support the preparation and execution of purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
- Track procurement commitments, approvals, submittals, manufacturing, delivery and installation requirements; escalate delays or supply risks early and coordinate recovery actions.
- Maintain accurate procurement registers, tender records, approval trails and cost information in the designated project systems and files.
- Work with project and commercial teams to monitor commitments against budget, update cost forecasts and cashflow inputs, and identify scope changes or potential cost exposure.
- Support supplier performance reviews and the capture of reliable package and vendor benchmark data.
- Apply M Moser’s procurement controls and ethical standards, including conflict-of-interest disclosure, fair competition, confidentiality and appropriate approval before commitments are made.
Attitudes, Values and Characteristics
You are organised, commercially minded and attentive to detail. You can manage several packages or projects at once, communicate clearly with technical and commercial stakeholders, and follow through on actions. You act with integrity, use sound judgement in negotiations and build constructive working relationships with project teams and the supply chain.
Your Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- At least 5 years of experience in MEP procurement, purchasing or subcontract administration, preferably on commercial interior fit-out or design and build projects in India.
- Practical knowledge of MEP scopes such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing and drainage, fire protection, ELV or building management systems, and how these packages interface on site.
- Experience preparing tender packages, evaluating bids, negotiating with contractors or suppliers, and supporting purchase order or subcontract award.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and commercial submissions; strong Excel and document-management skills.
- Clear written and spoken English communication. Additional Indian languages are an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively with local and international teams and travel to project or supplier locations when required.
Qualifications
A degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, is preferred. Other qualifications will be considered where supported by relevant procurement experience.
M Moser Associates offers competitive compensation, excellent benefits and the opportunity to work with an international team delivering projects for global and Indian clients.
