About the Role
Newham Technological Solutions is an engineering delivery centre supporting MEP contractors and consultants, with a strong focus on Singapore and international projects. We are looking for an experienced MEP Drafter to produce coordinated, code-compliant drawings across Mechanical (ACMV), Electrical/ELV, Plumbing & Sanitary, and Fire Protection systems. You will work directly with project engineers and overseas clients to convert design intent into accurate shop, coordination, and as-built drawings.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare 2D and 3D MEP drawings — layouts, sections, schematics, riser diagrams, and detail drawings — for ACMV, Fire Protection, Plumbing & Sanitary, and ELV systems.
Develop and maintain BIM models and produce coordinated drawings, resolving clashes between trades and with architectural/structural elements.
Generate shop drawings, builder's work (BWIC) drawings, combined services drawings (CSD/SEM&P), and as-built documentation.
Apply relevant codes and standards (e.g. Singapore SS CP 52, SS 553, SCDF Fire Code, NFPA, and local authority requirements as applicable per project).
Incorporate engineer mark-ups and client comments accurately and within agreed timelines.
Maintain drawing registers, revision control, and project file standards (layering, title blocks, naming conventions).
Coordinate with project engineers and overseas counterparts across time zones to meet delivery milestones.
Required Skills & Experience
3–5 years' minimum hands-on MEP drafting experience, ideally in a contracting, consultancy, or engineering services environment.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP (essential); experience with Navisworks for clash detection and coordination is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with BIM workflows and common data environments (e.g. BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud).
Sound understanding of MEP systems, symbols, and drawing conventions across at least two of: ACMV, Fire Protection, Plumbing, Electrical/ELV.
Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards; exposure to Singapore or international projects is an advantage.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or a related discipline.
