Job Title: MEP Design Engineers (Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, HVAC)
Location: Bangalore

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) Design Engineer with expertise in Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and HVAC systems to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of MEP systems design, strong technical skills, and a proven track record in delivering successful projects. The role involves designing, analyzing, and managing MEP systems for both commercial and residential construction projects, ensuring they meet all safety, compliance, and efficiency standards.
Key Responsibilities:Electrical Department:
- Design, develop, and implement electrical systems for commercial and residential buildings, including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, and grounding.
- Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis, and coordination studies.
- Design and select electrical equipment such as transformers, panels, switchboards, and circuit breakers.
- Ensure all electrical systems comply with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC).
- Coordinate with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure electrical designs are integrated with overall project plans.
- Prepare technical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
Plumbing Department:
- Design plumbing systems for water supply, drainage, and stormwater management in buildings.
- Perform water demand calculations, system pressure drops, and piping layout designs.
- Design HVAC chilled water systems, fire protection, and sanitary systems.
- Coordinate with other MEP departments to ensure seamless integration of plumbing systems.
- Ensure plumbing designs adhere to local plumbing codes and regulations (e.g., IPC, ASPE).
- Prepare detailed design drawings and documentation, including pipe sizing and material specifications.
Fire Fighting Department:
- Design and implement fire protection systems, including sprinklers, standpipes, hydrants, and fire alarm systems.
- Perform hydraulic calculations for water-based fire protection systems.
- Design the fire alarm system in compliance with NFPA standards and local building codes.
- Coordinate fire safety strategies with architects, structural engineers, and other MEP departments.
- Conduct site surveys to assess fire safety requirements and determine optimal system designs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant fire safety regulations and standards (e.g., NFPA, UL).
HVAC Department:
- Design HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration for various types of buildings.
- Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and system optimization to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Select HVAC equipment, including chillers, boilers, air handling units, and ductwork.
- Design systems for temperature control, humidity management, and air quality control.
- Coordinate HVAC system integration with other MEP systems (electrical, plumbing, fire safety).
- Ensure HVAC systems comply with local building codes, energy codes, and sustainability guidelines (e.g., ASHRAE, LEED).
General Responsibilities:
- Review project requirements and collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure MEP systems meet design criteria and client needs.
- Develop detailed technical specifications and drawings for all MEP systems.
- Provide support during construction, including reviewing contractor submittals and performing site visits to ensure design intent is followed.
- Perform system troubleshooting and address any design-related issues that arise during the construction phase.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in MEP design.
- Ensure that all MEP designs comply with local regulations, safety standards, and sustainability practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (or related field). A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 5-8 years of experience in MEP design engineering in one or more of the following areas: Electrical, Plumbing, or HVAC.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED, BREEAM, etc.) are a plus.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in MEP design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, HAP, Carrier, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and regulations in electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, and HVAC systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to perform detailed system analysis, including load calculations, equipment selection, and energy efficiency assessments.
- Experience with project management and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
