We are looking for an experienced MEP Design Engineer with strong expertise in Plumbing and Fire Fighting system design to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and drafting plumbing and firefighting systems for multi-story IT, commercial, residential, hospitality, and hospital buildings, ensuring compliance with local building codes and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design comprehensive Plumbing systems including water supply, drainage, waste, vent, stormwater, and sewage systems.
- Design Fire Fighting systems including hydrant systems, sprinkler systems, pump rooms, fire water storage, hose reels, and related components.
- Prepare detailed layouts, schematics, riser diagrams, isometrics, and technical specifications using AutoCAD and relevant software.
- Perform hydraulic calculations for pipe sizing, pump head calculations, sprinkler design, and water demand analysis.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, Structural, and client teams for integrated MEP solutions.
- Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ), Bill of Materials (BOM), and technical reports.
- Review contractor/shop drawings and provide technical clarifications.
- Provide design support during construction and conduct site visits to ensure proper implementation.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in Plumbing & Fire Fighting design for IT parks, commercial buildings, residential projects, hospitality, and hospital projects.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD
- Good understanding of plumbing and fire safety codes, standards, and authority requirements.
- Experience in hydraulic calculations and system sizing.
- Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with sustainable/green building design concepts.
- Experience in authority approvals and coordination.
- Knowledge of gas piping systems will be an added advantage.
