Title: Senior MEP Design Manager (MEPF)
Location: Delhi, Bangalore, Aurangabad
Experience: 5-7 years in MEP design
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager (MEPF) to lead and manage end-to-end design development of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting systems. The role involves overseeing design quality, ensuring coordination across disciplines, and aligning design deliverables with execution requirements for large-scale industrial, infrastructure, and commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. MEPF Design Management
- Lead complete MEPF design lifecycle from concept to as-built stage
- Review and approve HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting designs
- Validate engineering calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection
- Ensure designs meet performance, safety, and cost-efficiency goals
2. HVAC (Mechanical) Design Oversight
- Review chilled water, VRF/VRV, and DX systems
- Oversee AHUs, FCUs, ventilation, and exhaust systems
- Validate ducting, piping, and plant room layouts
- Review heat load calculations and system selection
3. Electrical Design Oversight
- Review HT/LT distribution systems
- Ensure proper integration of transformers, DG sets, and UPS systems
- Validate cable sizing, routing, and tray layouts
- Review lighting, power layouts, earthing, and lightning protection systems
4. Plumbing & Fire Fighting Design Oversight
- Oversee water supply, drainage, and STP/WTP systems
- Validate pump sizing and hydraulic calculations
- Review fire protection systems (hydrants, sprinklers, pump rooms)
- Coordinate fire alarm and detection systems
5. Design Coordination & BIM Integration
- Ensure coordination across all MEP disciplines
- Review BIM models and clash detection reports
- Work with BIM teams to resolve design conflicts
- Ensure timely release of coordinated shop drawings
6. Design to Execution Alignment
- Ensure designs are practical and installation-friendly
- Coordinate with site and project teams for technical clarifications
- Resolve site issues and design deviations
- Support method statements and technical submissions
7. Client & Consultant Interface
- Represent the organization in design review meetings
- Address technical queries and provide design justifications
- Ensure timely approvals of drawings and submissions
8. Standards, Compliance & Quality
Ensure compliance with:
- NBC / IS Codes
- ASHRAE & ISHRAE Standards
- NFPA Guidelines
- IEC & Electrical safety standards
- Project-specific requirements
9. Documentation & Deliverables
- Review and release design and shop drawings
- Ensure timely submission of technical documents
- Manage Quantity Take-Offs (QTOs)
- Oversee preparation of as-built drawings
10. Team Leadership
- Lead a team of MEP design engineers and draftsmen
- Allocate tasks and track progress
- Conduct design reviews and mentoring sessions
- Maintain consistency and quality across deliverables
Project Exposure:
- Industrial plants
- Manufacturing facilities
- Infrastructure projects
- Large commercial or utility buildings (preferred)
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 5-7 years in MEP design
- Experience with EPC or large MEP contracting companies preferred
- Proven experience in multi-disciplinary MEP coordination
Software Skills:
- AutoCAD (Mandatory)
- Revit MEP / BIM tools (Preferred)
- Navisworks (Clash detection)
- MS Office
