Role Overview
A dual-function engineering role responsible for designing fire protection and HVAC systems and preparing cost estimates and tender submissions for industrial and commercial projects. The candidate will work across the full project cycle — from pre-bid design and estimation through to execution support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design fire protection systems (sprinklers, hydrants, fire alarm, suppression) and HVAC systems (AHUs, FCUs, VRF, ducting, ventilation) for industrial and commercial projects.
- Perform heat load calculations, hydraulic calculations, duct and pipe sizing, and equipment selection per NBC, NFPA, IS, and ASHRAE standards.
- Prepare layout drawings, schematics, equipment schedules, and design submittals using AutoCAD.
- Study tender documents and prepare detailed BOQs, rate build-ups, and techno-commercial bid submissions.
- Obtain and compare vendor quotations; identify value engineering opportunities to improve bid competitiveness.
- Coordinate with design, project, and procurement teams for seamless execution support — RFIs, drawing revisions, and material clarifications.
- Maintain drawing registers, design files, rate databases, and tender documentation.
Skills & Qualifications
- 3–8 years in MEP design and/or estimation — fire protection, HVAC, or MEP contracting for industrial/commercial projects preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of HAP, HydraCALC.
- Sound knowledge of NBC 2016, NFPA 13/72, IS 2189, IS 3844, and ASHRAE standards.
- Strong MS Excel skills for BOQ, rate analysis, and comparative statements.
- Ability to read architectural, structural, and MEP drawings independently.
