Role Description The MEP Design Engineer – Mechanical will be responsible for designing mechanical systems for commercial, industrial, and specialty projects, including HVAC, ventilation, chilled water, and fire protection systems. Day-to-day tasks include performing load calculations, preparing mechanical layouts and schematics, selecting equipment, and coordinating designs with electrical, plumbing, and civil teams. The role involves reviewing project requirements, developing detailed design documents, supporting tender and BOQ preparation, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client specifications. The engineer will collaborate with project managers, site teams, and clients to resolve technical issues and support installation, testing, and commissioning activities. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Delhi, OH.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical design skills for HVAC, ventilation, chilled water, and other building services (e.g., experience with systems such as chilled water, VRV/VRF, radiant cooling, and evaporative cooling).
- Proficiency in MEP design tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD/Revit, load calculation software) and the ability to prepare detailed drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of relevant mechanical, fire protection, and building codes and standards, including design of fire suppression, sprinkler, hydrant, and smoke/fume exhaust systems.
- Experience coordinating mechanical designs with electrical, plumbing, and building management systems, including integration with water treatment and gas distribution systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for system sizing, equipment selection, and performance optimization across industrial and commercial environments.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, site engineers, contractors, and clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; prior experience in MEP design or building services engineering is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site, manage multiple projects, and maintain attention to detail in fast-paced construction and engineering environments.
