Company Description Magic Bus India Foundation, founded in 1999, enables young people to move out of poverty by helping them complete secondary education and transition into sustainable livelihoods. Through its “Childhood to Livelihood” programs, Magic Bus works with adolescents and youth aged 12 to 24 years across 24 states and 75 districts in India, impacting over 1 million young people. The organization runs 240 Community Learning Centres and works in 2,342 schools to build life skills, improve education outcomes, and strengthen employability. It also operates 80 Livelihood Centres and 8 Entrepreneurship Incubation Centres to provide sector-specific training, job placements, post-placement support, and mentoring for young entrepreneurs. Candidates joining Magic Bus will contribute to an established, impact-driven nonprofit focused on long-term, community-based change.
Role Description The Mentor Chat Support Executive is a full-time, on-site role based in New Delhi. This role focuses on providing responsive, empathetic, and informative chat-based support to adolescents and young people engaged in Magic Bus programmes. The Mentor Chat Support Executive will handle incoming queries via chat platforms, guide participants on program activities, schedules, and resources, and escalate complex issues to relevant team members as needed. The role includes documenting interactions accurately, maintaining updated participant records, and tracking common questions or concerns to improve support content. The Mentor Chat Support Executive will collaborate closely with programme teams to stay informed about curriculum, events, and opportunities, and will uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and organizational policies in all interactions.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to write clear, empathetic, and culturally sensitive messages in English and relevant local languages.
- Experience in chat-based customer support, helpline, or mentoring roles, preferably working with adolescents or young adults.
- Comfort using digital tools and platforms such as chat applications, CRM systems, and basic office software.
- Ability to listen actively, handle sensitive conversations, and provide supportive, non-judgmental guidance.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to handle multiple chats and maintain accurate records.
- Demonstrated interest in youth development, education, or livelihood programmes; experience in the social sector or NGOs is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related fields preferred) or equivalent relevant experience.
- Ability to work on-site in New Delhi, collaborate with diverse teams, and adhere to child protection and safeguarding policies.
