Role Description The Mega Walking for Health Insurance role at ABHICL is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The role involves engaging with prospective and existing customers in designated areas, educating them about health insurance products, and promoting wellness-focused offerings and incentives. Responsibilities include conducting daily outreach activities (such as neighborhood walks, kiosk interactions, and community engagements), explaining policy features in simple terms, and guiding individuals on how wellness programs can support their health goals. The role also requires collecting basic customer information, maintaining accurate records of interactions, and coordinating with the branch or sales team to facilitate enrollments and follow-ups. The Mega Walking professional is expected to represent ABHICL’s health-first philosophy, foster trust, and help expand access to health insurance within the community.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to explain health insurance and wellness benefits clearly and respectfully.
- Candidates should possess customer service and relationship-building skills to engage diverse community members and maintain long-term trust.
- Candidates should possess basic sales and persuasion skills to identify customer needs, present suitable products, and support conversions ethically.
- Candidates should possess organizational and record-keeping skills to track daily outreach, leads, and follow-ups accurately.
- Candidates should possess basic digital literacy, including comfort with mobile apps and simple data entry tools used for customer and policy information.
- Prior experience in field sales, insurance, banking, retail, or community outreach is beneficial.
- Ability to work on foot for extended periods, cover assigned local areas, and adapt to outdoor working conditions.
- Minimum educational qualification of a high school diploma or equivalent; higher education in business, commerce, or health-related fields is an advantage.
- Fluency in local language(s) and working proficiency in English is preferred.
