🚀 We Are Hiring: Medical Science Liaison – Oncology

About the Role
Are you a scientific expert passionate about driving meaningful medical exchange and advancing patient care in Oncology? AbbVie India is looking for a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Oncology to join our Medical Affairs team.
In this role, you will act as a trusted subject matter expert and scientific peer to key external experts, thought leaders, and healthcare professionals (HCPs) across key academic centers and medical institutions. You will facilitate non-promotional, peer-to-peer scientific dialogue regarding AbbVie’s oncology portfolio, pipeline compounds, and related disease states—all grounded in compliance and scientific integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Scientific Leadership & Engagement: Serve as the Oncology subject matter expert for your assigned territory, building collaborative, peer-to-peer relationships with thought leaders and key healthcare decision-makers.
- KOL Interaction & Insights: Develop and execute scientific interaction plans, document relevant insights in Veeva CRM, and maintain scientific presence in major academic centers.
- Research & Clinical Support: Facilitate Investigator-Initiated Study (IIS) requests, assist with Global Medical Affairs (GMA) studies, and support interventional clinical trials with study initiation visits.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Market Access) to provide scientific training and market insights while maintaining functional independence.
- Medical Information & Education: Deliver high-level, credible scientific presentations, support scientific publications, and facilitate physician requests for medical information or compassionate/named-patient access as permitted by law.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure all scientific interactions strictly adhere to national laws, local regulatory guidelines, AbbVie policies, and ethical codes of conduct.
Who We Are Looking For
- Education:
- MBBS + MD (Highly Preferred).
- MDS / BDS / Pharm.D graduates with at least 4 years of experience as an MSL in Oncology will also be considered.
- Candidates with an undergraduate degree and extensive, direct oncology therapeutic area experience may be considered.
- Experience & Skills:
- Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape, Medical Affairs, and clinical research methodology.
- Proven track record of developing collaborative relationships with key opinion leaders and clinical experts.
- Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- High commitment to scientific quality, data integrity, and compliance.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel extensively (up to 70% of time in the field) across assigned territories.
