Role – Medical Representative
The Medical Representative is the key link between the company and healthcare professionals. The primary objective is to drive prescription generation, achieve sales targets, and build strong, ethical relationships with doctors, chemists, and stockists within the assigned headquarter.
Core Responsibilities - Medical Representative
- Sales Target Achievement: Consistently meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets for the assigned territory. Drive the successful introduction of new medicines by ensuring target doctors are informed and local Chemist are stocked immediately.
- Scientific Detailing & Prescription Generation: Conduct regular visits to doctors and healthcare professionals. Deliver compelling scientific presentations detailing the clinical benefits, efficacy, and correct dosages of GTLL products to encourage consistent prescriptions.
- Territory Planning & Market Expansion: Follow a structured Monthly Tour Program (MTP) to ensure optimal geographic coverage and the correct frequency of visits to high-potential doctors. Identify, map, and proactively engage with new doctors, clinics, and hospitals to continuously expand the company's customer base.
- Supply Chain & Inventory Coordination: Collect stock orders directly from retail chemists and coordinate with authorized stockists to ensure timely delivery. Maintain regular, proactive contact with distributors and stockists to monitor inventory levels and completely prevent "out-of-stock" situations for high-demand medicines.
- Customer Relationship & Event Management: Develop deep, trust-based professional relationships with key doctors and Chemist owners. Assist in planning and organizing Continuous Medical Education (CME) programs and health camps as per GTLL's marketing strategy.
- Market Intelligence & Chemist Operations: Visit retail chemists to track the movement of GTLL products and audit which competitor brands doctors are actively prescribing. Gather and report actionable field intelligence on market trends, competitor activities, new promotional schemes, and pricing changes.
- Administration & Ethical Compliance: Accurately log daily field activities, doctor feedback, and chemist orders into the company’s reporting system. Manage the judicious distribution of free physician samples and promotional inputs, keeping strict and accurate records. Ensure all promotional activities strictly adhere to the Uniform Code of Pharmaceutical Marketing Practices (UCPMP) and internal GTLL guidelines, acting as a highly professional brand ambassador.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Medical Sales skills, including territory management, product promotion, and relationship-building with healthcare professionals.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication and Customer Service skills to present complex information clearly, handle queries, and maintain long-term client engagement.
- Candidates should possess foundational knowledge in Medicine and Pharmacy to understand product indications, usage, and compliance requirements.
- Candidates should possess basic computer literacy and familiarity with CRM or sales reporting tools to manage data and prepare regular reports.
- Relevant academic background such as a degree or diploma in life sciences, pharmacy, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare sales is an advantage, along with a valid means of local travel for client visits.
- Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, resilience, and the ability to work independently while meeting targets and deadlines.
