Role Description The Medical Oncologist will provide specialized care to patients with cancer, including evaluation, diagnosis, staging, and ongoing management of oncologic conditions. Responsibilities include developing individualized treatment plans, prescribing and monitoring chemotherapy and other systemic therapies, coordinating with radiation oncology and surgical teams, and managing treatment-related side effects. The role involves regular outpatient and inpatient consultations, participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards, and clear communication with patients and families about prognosis and treatment options. The Medical Oncologist will also contribute to clinical protocols, quality improvement initiatives, and documentation in accordance with hospital standards. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Samanvay Multispeciality Hospitals in Junagadh.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Medicine, with completed postgraduate training in Internal Medicine or equivalent, and specialized training in Oncology.
- Clinical expertise in the diagnosis and management of Cancer across common solid and hematologic malignancies.
- Proficiency in planning and overseeing Chemotherapy regimens, including management of adverse effects and supportive care.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Radiation Therapy teams and other specialties to deliver multidisciplinary cancer care.
- Valid medical license and relevant board certification or eligibility in Medical Oncology, as per regulatory requirements.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and a patient-centered approach to counseling and shared decision-making.
- Commitment to continuous medical education, adherence to evidence-based guidelines, and participation in audit or quality improvement activities.
- Experience working in a hospital setting; familiarity with electronic medical records and standard oncology protocols is an advantage.
