Role Description This full-time, on-site Medical Gastroenterologist role is based in Jagdalpur and involves providing comprehensive clinical care for patients with gastrointestinal, liver, and related disorders. The Medical Gastroenterologist will conduct outpatient and inpatient consultations, perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, and oversee the evaluation and management of acute and chronic GI conditions. Responsibilities include interpreting diagnostic tests, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, participating in case discussions, and ensuring adherence to evidence-based clinical protocols. The role also includes patient education, documentation of medical records, support for quality improvement initiatives, and contribution to hospital policies relevant to gastroenterology and hepatology services.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in clinical Medicine and Gastroenterology, with the ability to diagnose and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders.
- Proficiency in Endoscopy, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; experience with Capsule Endoscopy is highly beneficial.
- Clinical expertise in Hepatology, including management of liver diseases and coordination of multidisciplinary care.
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS) with MD/DNB in Medicine and DM/DNB in Gastroenterology or equivalent specialty training.
- Valid medical registration with relevant Indian medical councils and compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
- Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered and team-oriented approach.
- Ability to work in an on-site hospital environment in Jagdalpur, including participation in emergency and on-call duties as required.
- Experience in teaching, mentoring junior medical staff, or involvement in clinical research in gastroenterology is an advantage.
