Role Description This is a full-time Medical Doctor role based primarily at Vidyapati Hospital in Dhaka, Bihar, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows limited work-from-home responsibilities such as teleconsultations, documentation, and case reviews. The Medical Doctor will provide direct patient care, including conducting clinical assessments, diagnosing conditions, ordering and interpreting investigations, and developing evidence-based treatment plans. Daily activities include participating in OPD and IPD rounds, coordinating with nursing staff and specialists, managing emergency cases as needed, and ensuring accurate medical records and discharge summaries. The role also involves educating patients and families, supporting preventive health initiatives such as vaccination programs, and adhering to hospital protocols, clinical guidelines, and ethical standards. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and participation in ongoing quality improvement efforts are key aspects of this position.
Qualifications
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution, with valid registration from the appropriate medical council.
- Clinical experience in hospital settings such as OPD, IPD, and emergency care; exposure to multi-specialty environments (e.g., internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery) is highly beneficial.
- Strong diagnostic, treatment planning, and clinical decision-making skills, with the ability to manage both acute and chronic conditions.
- Proficiency in patient communication and counseling, including explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care in clear, understandable language.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with nurses, specialists, and allied health professionals, contributing to coordinated, team-based patient care.
- Comfort with basic medical documentation systems and hospital information systems; willingness to use digital tools for teleconsultation and record-keeping.
- Commitment to ethical medical practice, patient safety, and adherence to clinical protocols, infection control measures, and regulatory standards.
